Earth tones carry a natural warmth, recalling forests, stone, soil and soft beach sands. Their quiet, grounded quality creates a sense of ease and simplicity.

Ibiza / 2022

I was surprised by the landscape I found in Ibiza, a warm, dry and sandy palette set against an intensely turquoise sea. The contrast between the water and the yellow stone seemed to create a light of its own. At different times of day, the earth shifted towards reddish tones, while after rain unexpected greens, fuchsia flowers and humid air transformed the landscape completely.

This series became the beginning of an exploration of tonal relationships. I am interested in continuing to investigate how colour and texture can carry the memory and atmosphere of a place, and in the subtle connections I found between this landscape and the colours of the Chilean desert.
